25th Marine Biological Laboratory-Arizona State University History and Philosophy of Science Seminar: Visualizing Biology

This week and next week the 25th Marine Biological Laboratory-Arizona State University HISTORY and PHILOSOPHY of SCIENCE SEMINAR: VISUALIZING BIOLOGY is being held at the MBL in Woods Hole.

This graduate level seminar is designed to examine the history of visualization in biology from microscopic, organismic, and macroscopic levels through studies and discussions of historical, philosophical, and scientific perspectives.

The seminar which has been organized by Michael R. Dietrich, Professor of Biological Sciences at Dartmouth College, and directed by Professors James Collins and Jane Maienschein of Arizona State University, and John Beatty of the University of British Columbia. Professors Dietrich, Collins, and Maienschein are also Adjunct Scientists at the Marine Biological Laboratory.

The MBL-ASU History of Biology Seminar is offered in collaboration with and is funded by Arizona State University with additional funding from the Dibner Institute for the History of Science and Technology.
